Since our establishment in 1996, the Institute for Business Development Services (IBDS) has been offering training to people (candidates or employees) who work for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As well, various business courses for vocational training are provided (designed) to the working force.  Educational cultivation has been given to a large number of middle and entry-level (junior level) managers. This contributes to their works (roles) and productivity uplifting. Eventually, the candidates will have a good command of management knowledge and ability to work independently. The management courses, organized by IBDS, offer diploma and certificate levels. The syllabus comprises Diploma in Human Resource Management, Certificate in Trainers Accreditation, Diploma in Psychology, various seminars and workshops to improve managerial skills. In order to retain high quality of services, IBDS has been introducing accredited courses from professional institutions (Awarding bodies). In addition, our team consists of qualified teachers who have more than ten years of experience in teaching and training. All teachers hold tertiary academic qualifications and professional associateship. This constitutes good resources to provide high-quality teaching and consulting services.

Mr. L C Lin

Mr. L C Lin

Mr. Lin is presently the director of Institute for Business Development Services. He always provides consultancy services project for a number of manufacturers and companies in Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta of China since 1996. These project items include human resources management, carry out project research, retail operation and staff training.

Consulting and teaching experiences

Consultant of the Macau Management Association; and act as visiting lecturer in Macau Institute of Management, and University of Macau – Centre for Continuing Education; and retailing areas in Hong Kong Productivity Council. Mr. Lin is also a Technical Adviser (Retail operation area) of Hong Kong Employees Re-training Board (香港政府-僱員再培訓局), and act as a supplement writer for famous magazine –Hong Kong Recruit.

Academic and Professional Background

Mr. Lin gained a Management Development Qualification (MDQ) awarded by the University of Oxford Delegacy of Local Examinations for the National Vocational Qualifications in Management, and the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (Formerly the Open University of Hong Kong) with a Master degree in Business Administration, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Master degree of Arts in Chinese Culture, and Further & Adult Education Teachers Certificate from Hong Kong Technical Teacher’s College. In the aspect of professional qualifications, he awarded advanced Diploma in Retailing from City & Guilds UK,

Mr Peter Chan

Mr Peter Chan

Mr. Chan is currently the specialist lecturer at the Institute of Business Development Services (IBDS). He has been in the service of the education and business sectors over 30 years. During the time, Mr. Chan has served as a representative of the overseas’ Professional Societies in the educational field.

Consulting and teaching experiences

Mr. Chan is a subject instructor for the Employees Retraining Board (ERB), a mentor for the Youth Employment and Training Program (YETP) of the Labor Department, and a lecturer in the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions Spare Time Study Centre (HKFTUSTSC). Teaching courses, including: supervisory skills, business management and other subjects. During the same period, Mr. Chan also works as a program assessor and lecturer for the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Academic and Professional Background

Mr. Chan graduated from the Macau Institute of Management with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, and received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Costa Rica. He obtained a Teacher Certificate of Yi Jin Program from the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIED), Certificate in Advanced Instructional Teaching Techniques from the Hong Kong Technical Teachers’ College, and a Certified Trainer accredited by the Chinese government. Presently, Mr. Chan is an Associate Fellow at various associations, such as the City & Guilds of London Institute (C&G), the Society of Business Practitioners (SBP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Mr Owen Chang

Mr Owen Chang

Mr. Chang is an experienced English trainer for the Institute of Business Development Services (IBDS). He has been immersing himself in both academic and business training for more than 20 years.

Consulting and teaching experiences

Mr. Chang is responsible for various English programs including English Conversation, Business Communication, English for Retail Services, English for Aeronautical Technician Apprentice, Customer Service English and Business Writing. In the past few years, he has also taught the preparatory course for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Moreover, he possesses plenty of hands-on experience in Vocational English Training Course organized by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). What’s more? Mr. Chang is a teacher for the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions Spare Time Study Centre (HKFTUSTSC) who teaches different subjects such as Business English. Last but not least, he was an official examiner for the Pitman examination (UK) as well as an accredited English teacher of the London Teacher Training College.

Mr. Chang earned his Bachelor of Business in Marketing from La Trobe University and his Master of Arts in Applied Translation with distinction from the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (Formerly the Open University of Hong Kong).

Miss Diana Tong

Miss Diana Tong

Miss Tong is currently a training consultant at the Institute of Business Development Services (IBDS). She has been engaged in business services for more than 20 years. Miss Tong is well experienced in staff training and retail services, and has extensive knowledge in staff psychology and counselling.

Consulting and teaching experiences

In addition of relevant industry qualifications, Miss Tong began teaching vocational training courses for the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) in 2003. She has been a visiting lecturer at the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre. Miss Tong is also teaching the Advanced Diploma courses of business management and psychology, organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions Spare Time Study Centre (HKFTUSTSC).

Miss Tong obtained an Advanced Diploma in Training, Training and Assessing Learning from the City & Guilds of London Institute (C&G). She received her Bachelor of Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University; and her Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Paisley, United Kingdom.

Mr Ricky Fok

Mr Ricky Fok

Mr. Ricky Fok is an Executive Director of Mega Links International (founder of Rick Force Associates in Candana since 1990) provides business consulting services. He has more than 40 years solid experience in Industry and Commerce, especially in Clothing and Footwear industries. In respect, he was in the positions as Director, CEO, COO and Professional Consultant for the MNEs, Group Companies, and Publicly Listed Companies.  His exposure covers Asian, North Americans and European countries and experienced dealing with the Board of Investment Department of the country, the local government’s regulations, systems and cultures.

Mr. Fok is a preeminent consultant; his expertise and strength are Business Strategic Management and Operations Management tailored-made to individual enterprises. The consortium of organization restructuring, business reengineering, operations modification integrating management systems and processing flow, interrelated Business Excellence and World-Class-Manufacturing (inclusive lean and id 4.0) concepts starkly for comparative advantage. Also, Mr. Fok is a part-time Senior Lecturer since mid-80’s teaching at the Clothing Industry Training Authority, Macau Institute of Management and University of St. Joseph.

Mr Francis Yeung

Mr Francis Yeung

Mr. Yeung has been engaged in the commercial and manufacturing sectors for 20 years plus. He has worked for several multinational corporations from the US and Europe, as well as, few publicly listed companies in Hong Kong. His role was the Director of Quality Assurance/ Product Integrity and Production Engineer, responsible for all business in China, the Far East and South Asia. He is experienced in managing the big sized enterprises with thousands of employees, and establishing quality assurance systems.

Mr. Yeung was a part time lecturer at the Macau Institute of Management, University of Macao – Centre for Continuing Education; the Hong Kong Productivity Centre, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE – Haking Wong), the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions Spare Time Study Centre (HKFTUSTSC). He taught management disciplined subjects for advanced diplomas, bachelor degrees and other courses. Also, he was the supervisor for undergraduates’ thesis at the Macau Institute of Management. During the time, Mr. Yeung carried out consultancy service and research projects for the institutions.

Academic and Professional Background

Mr. Yeung earned his first degree of Bachelor in Administrative Studies from York University of Canada, and later received his MSc in Business and Community from the University of Bath, United Kingdom; his MA in China Studies from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; a Master in Buddhist Studies from the University of Hong Kong; and MA in Buddhist Studies from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

Professional qualification: Mr. Yeung is an Associate fellow of the Textile Institute (UK).

Expertise & Strength

His interest is in the areas of China Studies and Buddhist Studies. Mr. Yeung has co-authored a number of books, including: Production Planning and Operations Control for Apparel Industry, the Problematic Dilemma faced by the Small and Medium Enterprises and solutions, and the Macao SME Management – Case Studies.
